PONB319 Brings Home 1st Place for 2023-2024 City Lodge of The Year

The brothers from Pride of North Birmingham Lodge #319 just returned from The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of Alabama 154th Annual Communication in Mobile, Alabama, where they received the 1st place award for 2023-2024 City Lodge of The Year! This came after receiving the District 14 Lodge of The Year award on St. John’s Day, which makes the 2023-2024 Masonic year an enormous success, thanks to all the dedication and hard work put in by all of the officers and active members of The Pride.

We are incredibly grateful and honored by this recognition, and we will continue to move forward with the current standard of excellence that we have diligently strived to establish and continuously work to maintain and improve!

There will be a cook-off starting at 12pm, followed by the football game at Miles College, starting at 4pm, featuring a halftime scholarship presentation.

Bloody Sunday March 2024

Prince Hall Affiliated Masons showed up en masse on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, in Selma, Alabama, to recognize the history and significance of that fateful day in 1965, which served as a turning point for African American civil rights in The United States of America.

The Pride of North Birmingham Lodge #319 was in attendance, as well as The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, F&AM of the jurisdiction of Alabama, along with hundreds upon hundreds of other brothers from PHA lodges and sisters from OES chapters all throughout the Alabama jurisdiction.

And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” Genesis 22:14 NKJV

Shared Commentary:

A new name is given to the place, to the honor of God, and for the encouragement of all believers, to the end of the world, cheerfully to trust in God in the way of obedience: Jehovah-jireh, The Lord will provide, probably alluding to what he had said (v. 8), God will provide himself a lamb. It was not owing to any contrivance of Abraham, nor was it in answer to his prayer, though he was a distinguished intercessor; but it was purely the Lord’s doing. Let it be recorded for the generations to come, that the Lord will see; he will always have his eye upon his people in their straits and distresses, that he may come in with seasonable succor in the critical juncture. That he will be seen, be seen in the mount, in the
greatest perplexities of his people. He will not only manifest, but magnify, his wisdom, power, and goodness, in their deliverance. Where God sees and provides, he should be seen and praised.
